AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy called the police to complain that he was being subjected to “forced labour” by his mother after she asked him to help clean his home in Aachen, Germany.

The boy, who has not been identified, is reported to have told the police that “I have to work all day long. I haven’t any free time,” BBC News reports.

The boy had threatened to call the police having complained of having to do housework during his summer holidays, his mother said as she stood next to him when he made the call.

According to an edited police transcript that was released, the boy’s mother complained to police that: “He plays all day long and when told to tidy up what he’s done, he calls it forced labour,” the Telegraph reports.

Police said that the boy sulkily refused to come back to the phone after his mother spoke to the police and noted that he appeared to be going through a rebellious phase, the Sydney Morning Herald adds.
