THE SEARCH FOR the owner of a dog that arrived via train at Malahide DART station continues today as Irish Rail tries to reunite him with his owner in time for Christmas.

The small dog was handed in by a DART passenger yesterday, after being found on a train travelling from Greystones.

Anyone with information is asked to contact twitter@irishrail.ie or to tweet @IrishRail

Yesterday it was hoped that the dog was the same one featured on a ‘MISSING’ poster in Super Valu in Raheny.

However Irish Rail have confirmed in a series of tweets that that’s not the case:

An Irish Rail spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that a staff member at Malahide DART station took the dog home last night, and that they are convinced that the dog is a pet.

The spokesperson also said that there is “no shortage of people” willing to give the dog a home, but that they are still hopeful that the owners will be found.

Yesterday: Is this your dog?
