THE 13TH SEASON of America’s Got Talent kicked off on NBC last week – with Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel all in the judges’ chairs still.

Last night, the first bona fide star walked out to audition in front of the crowd

Mandy Harvey brought an interpreter with her and told the judges that she lost all her hearing when she was 18 years old – over a decade ago – due to her nerve deterioration after being diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder.

Her performance blew away both the judges and everyone watching at home – as she sang her own song called Try

Before singing, she told the judges how she got back into singing after so long out:

I left music after I lost my hearing and then figured out how to get back into singing with muscle memory, using visual tuners and trusting my pitch.

And she sings along to the music by feeling the vibration and tempo on the stage floor

She earned Simon’s Golden Buzzer, which he can only use once throughout the whole season and guarantees Mandy’s passage into the next round

Worth it <3

Eight hours ago, the America’s Got Talent Facebook page shared the video of her audition and it’s already been watched over 20 million times.

For everyone watching at home, it was an inspiring performance

She was overwhelmed with the response in the studio

Simon’s response after summed it up:

That was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen and heard.

Sounds about right.
