DESPITE THE FACT that the Christmas holidays have everyone confused about what day it is, it is in fact Friday which means it’s time to have a look at what your options are for telly this weekend.

Fortunately, there’s loads of good stuff on, no matter who you’re with or what you’re up to.

The sequel to Pride and Prejudice sees Elizabeth and Darcy six years into their marriage, and any Jane Austen fan will relish this period drama.

Grannies, aunties, mams and cousins alike will enjoy this one.

If you’re feeling shook… Sister Act 2 (Sat, RTE1, 13:35)

hand-waving

This has already been on a couple of times this week, but few films function as a soothing balm to the soul as this one does.

Bask in the dulcet tones of Lauryn Hill and let your stresses melt away.

If you’ve overdosed on politeness… Charlie Brooker’s 2013 Wipe (Sat, BBC2, 22:40)

Charlie Brooker yells

If you’ve had enough forced politeness with your family, not to mention watching TV you actually have no interest in, this is the perfect antidote.

Charlie Brooker’s look back at the year that was 2013 will be acerbic and hilarious, of that there is no doubt.

If you’re over Christmas… Good Year, Bad Year (Sun, RTE1, 22:15)

If you’ve had enough of Christmas, and are ready to move into the review portion of the year, why not join Simon Delaney and his panel to look back at Ireland’s 2013?
