Parents convince their kids that toy dinosaurs come to life during Dinovember

These parents have dedicated November to convincing their children that their plastic dinosaur toys come to life while they sleep.

NOVEMBER IS GREAT for a lot of reasons. Men grow moustaches, Christmas lights go up, and now it’s the month that toy dinosaurs come to life.

Well, at least that’s what Refe Tuma and his wife tell their children.

Tuma recently wrote a post on Medium about his quest to convince their children that their plastic dinosaurs come alive at night. He and his wife arrange the toys in different scenarios after their kids have gone to bed in order for them to discover the baffling scene the next morning.

So far, their dinosaurs have made a mess of their cereal, raided the fruit bowl, smashed open a carton of eggs, teepeed the bathroom and wrote all over the walls in crayon.

Here they are watching Dinosaurs

and er, vandalising the family home

But why would they do this? Refe explains:

Because in the age of iPads and Netflix, we don’t want our kids to lose their sense of wonder and imagination. In a time when the answers to all the world’s questions are a web-search away, we want our kids to experience a little mystery.

Amazing.

Now others are joining in with their Dinovember attempts, using the hashtag #dinovember on Twitter and posting their dinosaur antics to the official Dinovember Facebook.
