MCDAIDS PUB ON Harry Street in Dublin is one of the most legendary old school pinthouses that the city has to offer.

Even with its history though, you wouldn’t really expect to see it pop up in a big Hollywood movie.

That’s what made it all the better when it was spotted in the 2007 movie Gone Baby Gone on Netflix this week

Yes, Casey Affleck is rocking the McDaids tshirt for all to see.

The critically acclaimed Boston-based film was Ben Affleck’s feature-length directorial debut, starring his brother Casey, Michelle Monaghan, Morgan Freeman and Amy Ryan (who was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar).

First shared by the pub on its Facebook page, and then spotted by Publin.ie, it’s up there with one of the more random Irish pub references you’re likely to see.

Andy from McDaids told DailyEdge.ie that this shoutout is news to everyone in there:

We have no idea how he ended up wearing it! We did ask for a comment but got no reply.
One of my ex-colleagues somehow spotted it when watching the movie during the week. I’ve seen it but never copped it.

Here’s the tshirt in real life, confirming it’s the same one Casey Affleck is wearing in the film

Since it’s been spotted in Gone Baby Gone, they’ve had a “request from an actor on a Channel 4 show” for their own – so the possibility of the McDaids tshirt going even more international is very real.
