*WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE*
IT’S ONE OF the least enjoyable memes doing the rounds over the last few years, but this evening RTÉ’s Six One News fell victim to ‘F**k Her Right In the P***y’.
The practice involves shouting the charming phrase during a live TV broadcast, and that’s exactly what happened to Martina Fitzgerald this evening:
The practice originated back in January 2014, when prankster John Cain faked videos showing a man in a hoodie shouting the phrase during TV news segments.
Despite the revelation that they were a hoax, the meme soon spread, and has already ended up on TV3:

It’s also made an appearance at the National Ploughing Championships, this time on a KCLR radio broadcast.
The invasive and offensive gesture hasn’t always been as artfully ignored as by Martina Fitzgerald.
A Florida reporter had a quickfire response when he was a FHRITP victim last December, while a Canadian journalist expertly confronted some football fans who subjected her to it.
Please, let’s make 2016 the year we stop FHRITP for once and for all. Please.
