ONE OF FRANCE’S leading film companies, Wild Bunch, is set to offer British comedy Four Lions for free on its digital platform FilmoTV.

Directed by Brass Eye’s Chris Morris, Four Lions is a satire about four bumbling jihadists from Sheffield who come together and plan to commit an act of terror.

According to Variety, the move to offer it for free comes after Wednesday’s attacks on French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in which twelve people were killed, including eight journalists.

Vincent Maraval, founder of Wild Bunch, was quoted as saying:

It is the role of cinema to enable the light to shine through terror. We will continue (to fight for the freedom of expression) through films with more passion than ever.

If you are unfamiliar with Four Lions, here is a clip featuring the would-be jihadists singing along to Toploader’s Dancing in the Moonlight.
