FOR SOME PEOPLE, it’s not enough to go the simple route when asking someone to marry them. Oh no – they have to do it their way.
And luckily for us, if they’re thoughtful enough to arrange an out-of-this-world proposal, they usually go to the bother of recording it too.
So here’s our top six most unusual proposals – all caught on video.
- It’s Tuesday 1 November, on a tube somewhere between London Euston and South Hampstead. A group of people start singing the Bill Withers song Lovely Day… and little does one passenger know that her day is going to get a whole lot lovelier.
- Go to the cinema? Nothing unusual there. But go to the cinema – and discover that your boyfriend made a short film all about how he wants to marry you? Five stars.
- A trip to Disney turns into more than this young woman bargained for when her boyfriend enlists the help of some dancers… and a song called – wait for it – Marry Me.
- This man wants to – whisper it – ask his girlfriend to marry him. But does she get the message?
- Joe Benarroch and Jason Fournier met by accident one night while waiting for a bus – six years later, Joe found a wonderful way of proposing to his other half. Sorry, I think I have something in my eye…
- What is with marriage proposals and music? They go together like bees and honey. Here’s a video of a musical proposal one young woman put together for her girlfriend – it’s ten minutes of song, dance and even bellydancing. One for the ultra-romantics.
