“I think he’s gone this time.”

A MAN WHO woke up in a body bag at his own funeral last month has been pronounced dead, for real this time.

78-year-old Walter Williams died yesterday morning after first being confirmed dead just over two weeks ago.

Speaking to local news station 16 WAPT, Walter’s nephew Eddie Hester said “I think he’s gone this time”.

Walter’s family thought he had passed on February 26 and called coroner Dexter Howard who incorrectly declared him dead.

Howard, speaking to CNN, said “there was no pulse. He was lifeless.”

Walter was taken to a funeral home, Porter and Sons in Mississippi, where staff heard ‘rustling’ coming from body bag and quickly transferred him to the hospital.

We got him into the embalming room, and we noticed his legs beginning to move, like kicking. He also began to do a little breathing.

It is believed that the false declaration was because Walter’s pacemaker had stopped and started again.

Howard was on hand yesterday morning to give it another go, and Hester got a good laugh out of it.

The same coroner and the same funeral home director came this time, and when they got there, I said, ‘I thought y’all were going to send somebody else,’ and we laughed about it. Everybody laughed.

Williams affectionately called ‘Snowball’ by family members, had been in hospice care for congestive heart failure since February.

“It was a two-week miracle for me, and I enjoyed every minute of it, and my family did too,” Hester said.
