One Million Dubliners got such an emotional response, it's still trending on Twitter this morning

There was an overwhelming response to the story of Glasnevin Cemetery and Shane MacThomais.

LAST NIGHT, new Irish film One Million Dubliners aired on RTÉ One.

The documentary explores the life and death stories around Glasnevin Cemetery, where 1.5million people lie buried.

But mainly, it’s a portrait of Shane MacThomais, the cemetery tour guide and historian who was a well-known – even beloved – figure in Glasnevin as well as further afield. MacThomais died earlier this year, before the film’s release.
