MUSIC TO OUR ears.

A new study carried out by Oxford University indicates that living near a pub leads to people being “significantly happier, drinking less and having more friends.

The happiness is linked directly to those who not only live near a pub, but pay their local a regular visit.

You see, going down the local means that a) you’re likely to have a drink, which will oil you up a little leading to b) having meaningful face to face conversations and interactions.

The study was carried out in pubs in England; Oxfordshire to be exact. But sure they enjoy a sup down the local as much as we do.

Oxford University’s Professor Robin Dunbar highlighted that the “digital world is no substitute” for the friendships that can be made and maintained in the pub.
