CHANNEL 4′S GOGGLEBOX returned to our television screens last night.

All our favourites were back — Leon and June, the Siddiquis, the Malones — to pass judgment on the week’s telly.

One family who were notably missing, however, were the Moffatts. Led by breakout star Scarlett Moffatt, the family were beloved by fans.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Scarlett and her parents would not be returning to the series on account of Scarlett now being a “celebrity in her own right”.

The whole premise of Gogglebox is normal people commenting on the TV. Scarlett is now a celebrity in her own right so it made sense she wouldn’t continue. She and her parents came as a package. It wouldn’t work so well without all three of them.

But the harsh reality of a Moffatt-less Gogglebox only began to sink in last night with many taking to social media to mourn their departure.

So many broken heart emojis.

After all, Scarlett was the Queen of Gogglebox.

Remember when she delivered this devastating burn about a medium’s hairstyle?

Who can forget her superb one-liners?

She got a whole nation of people referring to their Prime Minister as Tresemmé!

But mostly she was everyone’s dream BFF.

Imagine slagging people on telly with her over a gin and tonic. The absolute dream.

And now she’s gone forever. Watching people watch telly will never be the same.

For what it’s worth, it doesn’t look as though there are any hard feelings between Gogglebox and Scarlett.

Sure, wasn’t she livetweeting it last night?

If you love someone, let them go.

Goodbye, Scarlett. We’ll never forget you.

*sniff*
