Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates (RTÉ Two, 9.15pm)

Two hard-partying brothers place an online adverisement to find the perfect dates for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway, the boys instead find themselves out-hustled by an uncontrollable duo and calamity ensues. Comedy, starring Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick and Adam Devine.

Ireland’s Got Talent (Virgin Media One, 7.30pm)

Lucy Kennedy hosts the talent show, with acts including a mime with a message, a cheerleader troupe, a beat boxer from Limerick, and choirs from Cork and Northern Ireland. 

The Martian (Channel 4, 9.00pm)

A manned mission to Mars is abruptly abandoned, with one crew member left for dead. However, the astronaut has survived and faces a series of challenges – to contact Earth and arrange his rescue and to survive for the years it will take for a spacecraft to reach him on resources intended to last the crew a month. Ridley Scott’s sci-fi drama based on the novel by Andy Weir, starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Daniel and Majella’s USA Road Trip (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)

New series. Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella go on a road trip across the Mid-West of America. In the first episode, they try their hands at baseball and water skiing.

Dancing On Ice (Virgin Media One, 7.00pm)

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby host the grand final of the skating challenge. Three celebrities and their professional partners remain in the contest, and each pair is challenged to perform a special showcase routine choreographed by Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill. They and fellow judges Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner will then pick one of the pairs to be eliminated before the others go on to the final round – performing their own take on Torvill and Dean’s signature piece, Ravel’s Bolero. Finally, the entire cast of this year’s show will return to the ice for one last performance. Whether Gemma will be there remains to be seen …

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies (ITV2, 6.20pm)

Dwarf king Thorin reclaims control of his homeland, but his descent into madness places him on the brink of war with his human and elven allies. As Thorin’s Hobbit friend Bilbo tries to save the tormented ruler from himself, a vast horde of orcs gathers to destroy them all. Conclusion of the fantasy adventure trilogy, starring Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ian McKellen, Luke Evans and Orlando Bloom.

  • Forgetting Sarah Marshall (ITV3, 9.00pm) A musician is devastated when his actress girlfriend leaves him, and he tries to cure his broken heart with a holiday in Hawaii. Starring Kristen Bell and Jason Segel. 
  • Twelve Monkeys (SciFi, 10.00pm) Terry Gilliam’s sci-fi thriller, with Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Madeleine Stowe and Christopher Plummer.
