EVERY FRIDAY AFTERNOON, presents an award-winning short film for you to enjoy as you ease into the weekend.

This week: Tufty

If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise. Tufty is just that; a big surprise. Here’s a film about teddy bears that runs at almost nine minutes with no dialogue that is completely engrossing from start to finish. The blurb for Tufty asks, ‘What if you knew where your teddy bear really came from?’ and the film sets out to show you the back story of one particular teddy.

The inevitable culmination of his life is a toy store shelf but this Filmbase/RTE funded film imagines what adventures might lead to that point. There’s definitely something a little special about Tufty.

(Warning: This film is about teddy bears – but it’s not really for children’s eyes.)
