Florida man critical after being shot in leg… by his dog
Billy Brown is the second man to be shot by his dog this month. Are we on the brink of an awful canine uprising?

A FLORIDA MAN is in a critical condition after being shot in the leg while out on a hunting trip – by his dog.

Billy E Brown’s injury marks the second known occasion this month in which a man has been shot by their dog.

ABC News reports that Brown was driving to a hunting post on Saturday, with his dog and gun sat between himself and a friend accompanying him.

The bulldog, Eli, hit the gun as his master drove down a bumpy road – simultaneously turning off the safety and hitting the trigger, firing a bullet directly into his master’s thigh.

A spokesman for Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the dog had become “excited” during the travel, and recommended that hunters travelling to preserves drive with their firearms unloaded.

The unusual incident follows an equally unusual incident earlier this month, where a Utah bird hunter was shot in the bum when his dog stepped on his gun, ten feet away.

That victim was treated at a nearby hospital, where medics removed 27 pellets from his rear.

Should this spate of canine armed attacks become more worryingly widespread, we will – of course – keep you posted.
