Hula hooping to a new world record

About 4,500 people in Thailand broke the Guinness World Record for most people dancing with hula hoops earlier today. Here are the pics.

NEARLY 4,500 PEOPLE hula-hooped into the world record books today in Thailand.

The huge crowd gathered at Thammasat University in Pathumthani to break the Guinness World Record for most people dancing simultaneously with hula hoops.

The previous record was held by Taiwan where about 2,500 hula hoopers swung for two minutes. Today’s event was organised by Thailand’s Public Health Ministry to help create health awareness.

Adjudicator Seyda Subasi-Gemici said that 4,483 people had swung hula hoops to dance music for seven minutes without interruption. Only about 500 people had to drop out because of dropped hoops.

Impressive.
