BEFORE CARDI B released her album Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2 this summer, she was known mostly for her hilarious videos, particularly on Vine and Instagram.
After the release of Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2, however, Cardi B has made a very big impact on the music industry.
She pushed Taylor Swift’s track ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ off of the top spot and is the first female rapper to top the charts without an accompanying act since Lauryn Hill did it in 1998. That’s nearly twenty years.
She is only the fifth ever female rapper to hold Billboard’s number one spot. Did we mention this is her debut single? As Huffington Post reported, Cardi B is also the first female solo artist to reach No. 1 with a debut track since 2014.
Pretty impressive.
