“Here we are again in the aftermath of another terrible, inexplicable, shocking and painful tragedy”.

The chatshow host was emotional as he talked about his hometown and the attack on Sunday night that left over 50 people dead.

An upset Jimmy tried to comprehend how attacks like this are still happening.

There’s no way to know why a human being would do this to other human beings at a concert, having fun, listening to music.
It’s the kind of thing that makes you want to throw up, or give up.

Kimmel went on to say that it’s unacceptable to say there’s nothing we can do about such tragedies, saying “I disagree with that, intensely, because there are a lot of things we could do about it but we don’t”.

He spoke about gun control, and claimed the issue isn’t being pressed hard enough.

NRA will smother it all with money, and over time, we’ll get distracted and move onto the next thing.

He also rejects thoughts and prayers of certain lawmakers, and said “they should be praying for God to forgive them for letting the gun lobby run this country”.

Finally, he displayed photos of the 56 US senators who voted against closing loopholes that made it possible for people to buy weapons at gunshows without background checks.

But he ended on a hopeful note, showing the hundreds of people lining up to give blood in Vegas in the aftermath of the attack
