11 reasons being a millennial is the absolute WORST

Who even wants affordable healthcare and housing anyway?

BEING A MILLENNIAL is not all it’s cracked up to be. All of the self service fro-yo, memes and selfies are just a way to ease the pain of being crippled financially and dealing with having a very bleak future. Here are a couple of ways that life’s really fun for young people in 2017

1. Knowing that hard work actually doesn’t do very much in comparison to luck and circumstances

2. When you work in retail, all that most middle aged customers see you as is a lazy young person who isn’t motivated enough to find a real job

This is regardless of the fact that you probably either go to college 5 days a week or are raising a child (maybe both) while working. And you don’t get a single weekend off. Haha! So lazy.

3. Hearing that you are clueless when it comes to saving money

4. And therefore never being able to afford a mortgage because you buy too many flat whites

If you drink five coffees a week at €2 each, you’re spending €480 a year. That means you’ll only need to cut out the coffees for 83 years to save the 20% you need for a mortgage on a house that costs €200,000. Not bad.

5. But don’t worry we can just rent somewhere to live

Oh wait. Rent to live in a studio apartment where the door of your fridge hits off your bed when you open it costs like 80% of a minimum wage workers monthly income.

6. Being soo entitled

7. Oh wait, our sense of entitlement isn’t highly unrealistic expectations out of sales assistants

We just want to be able to afford very basic things

8. Being told all you do is eat brunch. Listen, as much as I wish this was true, millennials don’t even get weekends off. It’s a myth

Show me all the young people who you believe have been slowly dying of malnutrition from eating nothing but Eggs Benedict since 2013.

9. Being called overly sensitive for not tolerating discrimination

10. Hearing that all you do is go on your phone from the generation that won’t stop sending us Candy Crush requests at 3am

11. Wondering if we will ever be able to retire some day

People are constantly speculating that jobs in a ridiculous system called the “gig economy” will no longer have pensions, stable hours, sick pay or holiday pay. Sorry if we seem a little bit moody, we’re just preparing ourselves to be baristas until we are 90.
