IF THERE’S ONE thing that we all hate, it’s a remake of a classic TV show.
And in fairness, Charmed wasn’t a particularly brilliant TV show back in the day, either. Lots of people watched it religiously, but for many, it was just something to sit through while they were waiting on Buffy to start.
It doesn’t matter anyway, because the original version of Charmed now looks like a work of art in comparison to the remake that will be coming to TV this autumn.
It opens with the mother of the Charmed sisters saying:
I feel so lucky to be the mother of two special young women. Special, in such different ways. Always remember that. You’re better together, your differences are your strengths and nothing is stronger than your sisterhood.
Wow, what a completely natural conversation for a mother to have with her two teenage daughters. Have you ever, in your life, heard your own mother use the word ‘sisterhood’?
Anyway, it seems like somebody watched ‘Love’ on Netflix and then decided to take the idea, set and cast of Gus’ below-average supernatural TV show Witchita and make it into a series.
