Donal Skehan chopped his finger open while cooking live on BBC One this morning

Chef’s nightmare.

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE live TV to bring out the most ridiculous, panic-inducing moments that can’t be edited out.

And one happened to Donal Skehan this morning on BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen.

He was finishing up a recipe with fellow chef Jun Tanaka and presenter Julian Clary when he realised he chopped his finger with the knife

Oh. No.

He handled it like a pro, and even suggested to plate up the food.

His reaction when he realised it was cut was so good

Knives are just too sharp these days

“Lads, I’m fine”

Donal went on Instagram straight after to let everyone know it was grand

He wrote:

Well nothing like cutting your finger live on TV on a Saturday morning to keep you on your toes! Thanks so much for the lovely tweets and support- I’m all good! Thankfully not too deep- but glad to join that exclusive club of hosts who’ve done exactly the same! Key is as always to KEEP BLOODY GOING!

Good advice.

Donal thanked everyone for the messages and, presumably, went directly to the first aid kit when they went off air
