What to watch on TV tonight: Friday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Gogglebox (Channel 4, 9pm)

We are all Gogglebox, and Gogglebox is all of us. The social media favourite takes over screens for another week as our cast of regulars give instant reactions to the telly. Highly enjoyable, and likely to be all over Twitter like Have I Met Your Mother repeats on E4.

The Trip (BBC Two, 10pm)

Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are back with another run of their improvised comedy series, whose first outing saw them travel around the north of England and was made into a film. This time they’re in Italy. If it’s not described as a ‘cult favourite’ by next week, we’ll eat our remote control.

The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 10.35pm)

Unquestionably the best of the weekend chat shows, Norton returns for a new series after several empty Friday nights. He’s got Russell Crowe and Kylie Minogue on his sofa for the first show back. Let’s hope nobody asks Crowe about rugby. #GrahamNorton

Who’s on the Late Late Show later?

Irish boyband star Siva Kaneswaren, formerly of The Wanted. X Factor winner Sam Bailey, who’ll also be singing. And Garda whistleblower John Wilson.

Cable heavy-hitter HBO’s new comedy series satirising the California tech world was premiered this week. It tells the story of a group of programmers working for a tech giant called Hooli (yes, it’s a stand-in for Google) and trying to make it big.

Created by Mike Judge of Beavis and Butt-head, King of the Hill and Office Space fame, the show has already sparked a welter of press coverage on both sides of the Atlantic. It goes out on Sunday night for the first time, and Twitter will be watching.

Or switch over for…
