Donald Trump Jr is getting torn to shreds for a tweet comparing his daughter’s trick or treating to socialism

Only the toughest, richest kids are allowed sweets.

DONALD TRUMP JR has had quite an eventful week – following more revelations about the Russian lawyer he met with who’s involved in an international money laundering case.

But last night it was domestic matters that were to the fore, when Jr was celebrating Halloween with his family.

Bizarrely, he chose to use his daughter Chloe’s trick or treating to tweet out a “lesson” about socialism

The candy that Chloe received was *free* from generous neighbours – so Trump Jr’s point is already flawed before even talking about why he’d bring his young daughter into this particular debate.

He tweeted the “lesson” last night and brought on a firestorm of criticism – on every level:

Nearly 60,000 replies have all informed him of why he’s wrong

There are perhaps better political lessons to learn here

Parody tweets with a more sound basis are taking off too

JK Rowling thought there could be a parallel with the sitting President

People pointed out that they have been that kid at home, and absolutely appreciated others generosity at the time

No! Let’s make Halloween about grinding, dog-eat-dog capitalism instead! Only the toughest, richest kids are allowed sweets!

Maybe sharing candy isn’t the worst thing ever?

Zach Braff had some corrections for Donald Jr

If Donald Jr sat down and thought logically about trick or treating, he might not let her out of the house next year based on it being such a generous act

He thought he’d landed a zinger with this one, but no.
