Mahmud Abbas spoke with Blinken of the need “to stop the Israeli aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank”.
Palestinian Authority currently exercises limited rule in the West Bank, which has been occupied by Israel since 1967.
Netanyahu is not known to have shifted his position on reviving talks for a Palestinian state.
Blinken has called for "more food, more water, more medicine" to be delivered to Gaza.
