Intel has offered manufacturing workers at its Leixlip plant in Kildare voluntary unpaid leave as it looks to cut costs.
Local TD James Lawless said that he has spoken to Intel and that there are 'no plans' for the voluntary scheme to become mandatory.
Just back in March, Intel announced a further €12 billion investment in the site.
