AMY HUBERMAN HAS publicly announced her support for Together For Yes on Twitter today.
The actress tweeted, explaining her decision to vote yes on 25 May:
Firstly I believe each to their own. And in turn the very essence of that being choice. As I see it it isn’t pro anything other than choice. For basic healthcare, compassion, understanding, safety & Trusting Women. Either way make sure you’re registered to vote. #togetherforyes
For me, reading accounts of many doctors and obstetricians saying how it has and is putting women at risk and in danger and how it is as it stands is exporting what is already here. For compassion in crisis. Either way, register before May 8th #togetherforyes.”

Consider the amount of influence that Amy has in terms of her selling power. The ‘Amy effect’ ensures anything she wears sells out overnight.
Her 700,000+ followers love her, both for her fashion sense and her frank sense of humour – the latter is probably why she’s as well liked and well respected as she is within Irish society. If she can get her followers to buy out a €180 leather jacket, imagine how people she can get on the register, and beyond that, voting yes.
With two simple tweets, Amy Huberman has highlighted how important it is for Irish influencers to use their voice beyond flogging clothes and makeup (although there’s absolutely no harm in that). With more and more voices sharing freely online, it’s time to consider for them to consider their position – as Amy has done – and show just what can be achieved through channeling their “influence”
