win or lose

Laura Whitmore, Gigi Hadid, and Jamie Dornan... it's our celeb winners and losers of the week

Some will win, some will lose.

DailyEdge praises those who rocked the week in celebland, while keeping a watchful eye on those who should just log off forever.

Losers

Laura Whitmore

Laura Whitmore came under some heat this week and not due to the sun. The presenter was at Wimbledon and made a comment about a man’s complexion that didn’t go down well with followers.

She wrote:

Nothing better than a flattering pic whilst watching centre court Wimbledon @imdeemoran . #ChinsRUs But what we’ve all learned kids is… wear sunscreen #liveyoung #wimbledon

The photo shows a man sitting behind Laura and her pals, looking a bit sunburnt.

Followers were quick to point out that the man could merely suffer from roscea or high blood pressure.

Laura defended her comments, saying that the man clearly has the shape of sunglasses on his face.” No negativity intended”.

Er, ok then.

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes is a loser this week because she was in Ireland and didn’t come to visit us. Kidding!

Except I’m not really. Where’s all your Instas from lovely Ireland Katie? Where’s your half-baked claims of being Irish? Give us something.

Posing in Borris? Oh, forget it.

Winners

Jamie Dornan

Jamie got a bit of a windfall this week thanks to his role in Fifty Shades.

Jamie might have been full of morto about his role in the franchise at one stage, but we’re bet he’s glad he did it now. Mr Grey’s company Where’s the Danger filed their accounts this week, and show that the actor got a dividend of over €1 million in 2016 thanks to the movies.

Not bad, not bad.

Alanis Morrisette

Alanis is a winner this week because she wrecked Ireland with two gigs on Wednesday and Thursday.

Not only that, she actually seemed to love her time here in Ireland, visiting Trinity College and taking a very sweet photo in the library.

Love her. Take notes, Katie.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid finishes off our winners for this week, for getting involved in internet rumours about herself.

Gigi and Zayn Malik have been on and off for a while now, but it seems like they’re very much back ON at the moment. The pair celebrated the 4th of July together, and seem happy out. But can you be happy? This is the internet, pal. Absolutely not.

Of course there’s an Instagram account dedicated to proving that the relationship is false. Gigi, rightly sick of people tagging her in the posts, commented on one of the pics:

Seems like u guys tag me in a new post every day…pls stop… it’s just negative, I really have no hard feelings towards you, I just know what a beautiful world there is to go out and live in instead of trying to dissect a relationship between two people that you don’t even know.
You guys can call it promo but I just post about my boyfriend like anyone else. Whether I support Z or he supports me is out of love and excitement for one another. There’s nothing to figure out all the time… give it a break.

Give it a break? What else would they do?
