Danielle Meagher has de-Irished her name on UK telly

The former Dublin Wives star is ‘Danielle Marr’ for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

DUBLIN WIVES STAR Danielle Meagher has publicly changed her name to Marr, ahead of her first high-profile appearance on UK television.

Meagher/Marr entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last night, becoming the latest Irish face to make the transition to UK reality TV.

And mysteriously all publicity materials for the show - as well as Danielle’s personal website and Twitter - now display her name as Danielle Marr.

Marr/Meagher, sometimes known as ‘Dr Botox’, is the clinical director of the DermaFace clinic (whose website still displays her old spelling).

Meanwhile, according to her own site:

Reality TV star Danielle Marr is a force to be reckoned with. Self-assured, sassy and beautiful Danielle is goal-driven and focused [...] She currently splits her time between her hometown Dublin and what she refers to as her second home but with better shopping; London.

She appeared on TV3 reality show Dublin Wives but fell out with her co-stars, calling them her “supporting cast” and saying:

Most of what [they]say goes over my head as their diction and command of the English language is so poor that it’s hard for me to understand what some of them are trying to actually communicate.

Celebrity Big Brother is a well-worn path for Irish celebrities looking for international exposure. Last year it helped model Georgia Salpa go from standard-level Lovely Girl to (reasonably) international pin-up.

Calls to Marr’s publicist were not immediately returned this afternoon.
