People are getting freckles tattooed on their faces in the name of beauty

It’s the newest cosmetic tattooing craze.

YOU GO THROUGH your whole life as a pale-skinned Irish person thinking you have to cover up your freckles, and then people start getting freckles tattooed on them.

Yes, tattooed.

Freckles have recently emerged as a popular form of semi-permanent makeup, along with eyebrows and eyeliner.

According to Cosmopolitan, the procedure is similar to microblading, a semi-permanent tattoo that uses tiny needles to press vegetable dye under the skin.

The freckles initially look quite dark and obviously fake, but are supposed to fade into something more natural over time:

The dye from microblading can last 1-3 years, so it’s not too permanent… but still pretty permanent.

If you want to fake freckles without a) roasting yourself in the sun and b) tattooing your face, you could always try a brown eyeliner. Just a thought.
