Picture This made their US TV debut to millions of viewers on NBC's Today Show

“I walked by you a few times getting some rest in the green room”

THE MAIN DRAW on yesterday’s Today Show on NBC was Hillary Clinton’s first live interview since losing the Presidential election last year.

Also on the guest list? Athy band Picture This.

The Today Show is NBC’s flagship morning programme – often bringing in over four million viewers every day.

Not a bad way to start in the States.

The morning after playing their first ever gig in New York, the lads dropped into studio to play Take My Hand – and Today has uploaded the full clip on its website

The presenters gave them the big intro:

“In less than a year, Picture This went from working class beginnings in a small Irish town to selling out two Dublin arenas in under three minutes”

The presenter knew well they were out the night before: “You guys are having fun, right?”

Ryan: “That’s why we were sleeping all morning here”

Morning shows aren’t conducive to having a belter of a late night, as the host noted:

I walked by you a few times getting some rest in the green room

“Getting some rest” is such adorably polite mam-speak for having a sneaky kip. Ryan then told them the story of how Picture This started:

“It’s been crazy, we didn’t expect it at all. We just put a song on Facebook at the very beginning – which is Take My Hand. We didn’t even want to be a band at the time, we were kind of forced into it, so now we’re here. To be playing in New York last night was amazing”

They then belted out their most famous song, and introduced themselves to the US in style

Following the performance, their new album popped into the Top 5 in the US Alt Charts too

Not a bad day at the office.
