Supermac's has started parking these cheeky advertising trucks outside McDonald's around Ireland

“No clowning around.”

FOR A COUPLE of years now, Supermac’s has been in a battle with McDonald’s over the trademarking of the name “Big Mac”, as well as other Mc-related words.

It’s gone all the way to the European Union Intellectual Property Office, but now things have been taken to new, delightfully petty levels:

Last night, a Supermac’s advertising truck was spotted in Galway… parked outside a McDonald’s

Included on the side of the van is a clown upturned in a bin – part of Supermac’s new ad campaign

And others were quick to spot it too – look at it parked up there in full view

This is just the start of what’s going to be a bit of a national operation, as Supermac’s director Pat McDonagh tells DailyEdge.ie:

They’ll be popping up occasionally outside McDonald’s around the country for the foreseeable future.

So it’s not just a once-off parking mistake, then. Is it a controversial move advertising directly in front of a big rival? Pat continues:

They’ve been doing it to us so maybe it’s time to hit back a little.
