IT’S A LONG slog when you’re a weekend worker.
1. You’re either going to be intensely busy or deathly quiet
Depending on whether you’re in an office or retail, you’ll either be rushed off your feet with customers, or have absolutely NO ONE to communicate with.
2. You never get the excitement of a Friday that everyone else has
Oh yeah, I have to work tomorrow.
3. You know the true horror of getting the bus home when everyone else is boozing on it in preparation for a night out
4. Early starts on Sundays are hell
You feel like the only person in the whole country up and at em.
5. You rarely have anyone to go out with on your actual weekend
What even IS a weekend, when you think about it?
6. When you actually have a weekend off it’s like a mini holiday
IT’S A WHOLE NEW WORLD.
7. You have to be extra flaky with plans because you don’t know how your shift will go
8. You’re constantly late to the pub, while everyone is six pints in and won’t recall seeing you
9. You’ve worked with a rotten hangover due to bad self control
WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO YOU?
10. Brunch is a foreign concept to you
You’re never free on a Sunday afternoon to prance around drinking prosecco and fancy eggs, why is life so hard?
11. “Enjoy your weekend” is the worst thing anyone can say on a Friday
I WON’T, I WILL BE IN WORK.
12. Your days off consist mostly of day time TV and doing boring admin
You may have had a great weekend, but I get to skip the queues in the bank!
