Facebook allows Effin locals to declare hometown – but no expats

The social network silently allowed people to use ‘Effin’ as their hometown over Christmas – but people living away from Ireland can’t do so.

Local points out that villages near banned Effin are called Nicker and Meanus and are allowed on the site (although nearby Bottomstown is blocked).
