50 Cent launches live comedy show and website

The US rapper is attempting to add another string to his bow with the launch of website and live comedy show, which premiers tonight from New York city.

US RAPPER 50 Cent is flexing his business muscles in an entirely new – and somewhat unexpected - direction with the creation of  a live comedy show and website.

The live act, named This Is 50 Comedy Show, is due to be filmed in New York and streamed online though the website thisis50comedy.com. According to the website, the aim is to “expose the world-wide web subscribers to the cutting-edge humor of the nation’s funniest comedians”.

While it’s not yet clear if 50 Cent himself will cracking out the gags, it has been confirmed that comedian Young Jack Thriller will play host. The show will be streamed each Thursday, from today, and access will cost $2.99. All proceeds will go towards relief effort for the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The rapper caused a stir last March for joking on Twitter about the Japanese disaster to his millions of followers. He later defended his actions, saying: “Some of my tweets are ignorant. I do it for shock value. Hate it or love it. I’m cool either way.”

It remains to be seen whether Fiddy’s latest venture will be a runaway success – but, if all else fails, we can always rely on English 50 Cent to raise a smile or two…
