A five-year-old from Dublin has offered his school medal to Michael Conlan

“I want you to have my school medal because you are a winner.”

THE WHOLE OF Ireland was outraged by the apparent robbery of Irish boxer Michael Conlan in his bout in Rio yesterday.

And little Finn McManus in Dublin was just as upset.

Because he wrote this letter to the Olympian last night

Offering Conlan his school medal, he said:

Hi Michael,
My name is Finn McManus and I am five years old. I saw your fight in Rio and you should have won because you are the best boxer in the world. I want you to have my school medal because you are a winner. I hope you like it, from Finn.

What a legend.

The post has gone viral from the Belfast Boxers Facebook page and on Finn’s Uncle’s Twitter last night – with over 6000 likes and 1000 shares on the Facebook post alone.

Uncle Joe also confirmed that it was Finn’s older sister that wrote out the letter for him – which might explain the high quality handwriting.

Michael Conlan has shown his appreciation on Twitter this afternoon, and says he has a present for little Finn

Finn deserves an Olympic medal himself for soundness. Well played young man.
