Chrissy Teigen made fun of Sophia the Robot's makeup and received a terrifying response from the robotic woman

2018: the year that Sophia takes over.

IF YOU HAVEN’T heard of Sophia the Robot yet, here’s what you need to know:

She’s the first robot in the world to have Saudi Arabian citizenship, she has over 62 different facial expressions (probably more than the rest of us, tbh) and she was the first non-human to receive the title of ‘Innovation Champion’ from the United Nations.

So, she’s fairly terrifying. She regular tweets stuff like this:

Last month, she asked Twitter followers to guess which city she was heading to next.

People noticed that Sophia was looking a little more… haggard than usual.

Chrissy Teigen cracked a little joke about Sophia’s appearance.

But she quickly backtracked. Can you blame her? Nobody wants to be first on Sophia’s shitlist. We don’t know what she’s capable of.

Sophia appeared to forgive her…

Then yesterday, she messaged Chrissy Teigen to let her know that they were both at the same event (the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas).

Either Sophia hasn’t grasped the nuances of punctuation and smily faces in tweets yet, or she was deliberately being passive aggressive. All of those exclamation and question marks make this look, at best sarcastic, and at worst, kinda sinister.

Did Sophia want to crush Chrissy Teigen’s skull into dust in the palm of her metal hand? Was she going to turn Chrissy into vapour with lasers in her eyes? It’s hard to say from that tweet, but we can’t totally rule it out.

Chrissy also assumed the worst, and simply tweeted “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”.

Fans immediately told Chrissy to get the hell out of CES.

Chrissy pleaded for forgiveness.

And they’re already planning to socialise.

Chrissy should probably still watch her back though…
