SOME PEOPLE HAVE cake, others get balloons – but Eatyard have decided to celebrate their birthday in a very different way.
The outdoor eatery will be hosting a chili pepper eating contest tomorrow in celebration of its 1st birthday.
The chilli peppers will begin at the lower end of the scoville scale at a mild heat and will increase in heat based upon the Chilli Pepper Heat Scoville Scale as the rounds progress.
The rules for the contest are strict enough, and include these:
Contestants will be required to eat the entire pepper including flesh, seeds and membrane.
Each contestant will be given milk to consume at any point of the contest however the consumption of any liquid including the milk provided will result in automatic disqualification from the contest.
As for puking?
Any contestant that vomits either during a round or within a one minute period after the round has completed will be disqualified.”
Not one for those with a jippy stomach, so.
As well the contest, Eatyard will be hosting a public taste test of chicken wings for Just Wing-It Flavour Club, where you’ll get to decide the new flavour.
Nom.
And on top of THAT, competitions, pop ups, music, demos and vendor battles all taking place over the weekend.
