FOR THE LAST week, Irish fans have been roaming around France singing, “Stand up for the boys in green” to anyone who will listen.

Last night, a group of fans gathered under a bridge in Bordeaux to shelter from the rain and commenced singing as French police officers looked on. Their chant?

Stand up for the French police! Stand up for the French police!

Until eventually, French police decided, “Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” and started singing their own song

Go home for the French police, go home for the French police…
