AS PUBLIC PROPOSALS go, this is one of the sweetest we’ve seen in a while.
Waterford-based band King Kong Company were playing a gig in Dublin’s Academy Theatre on Saturday and, in the middle of the show, stopped to tell the audience that they had an announcement to make.
Will you bear with us for a minute because we’ve something kinda special to do now that we’ve never done before. There are two people in the crowd who come to a lot of our gigs: Paudge and Robyn. Put up your hands!
The crowd crouched down so the couple could be seen from the stage, and then:
“Robyn, Paudge has something to ask ya.”

Thanking the band on Facebook, Robyn said: “Guys, best show ever, best band ever! It was most definitely emotional!”
And King Kong Company hinted that they would play at the wedding…
I guess we best dust off our wedding suits.
