IN DUBLIN FOR the Easter weekend and looking for something to do?
On Easter Monday, the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield will be paying tribute to Irish film with a full day of free screenings.
It’s all part of Cruinniú na Cásca, a series of public events all around the country celebrating Irish culture and creativity.
Here’s what they’ll be showing, completely saor in aisce - it’s a great auld lineup:
- Oscar-nominated animation Song of the Sea;
- The Secret Scripture, based on the novel by Sebastian Barry;
- Older Than Ireland, a documentary about Irish centenarians;
- Cork comedy The Young Offenders;
- The Lobster, a surreal drama starring Colin Farrell;
- And Lenny Abrahamson’s award-winning drama, Room.
