IT’S NOT EASY being a celebrity, particularly a female celebrity when the paparazzi are watching your every move and every change in body appearance makes for a news story.
This is exactly what happened to Lili Reinhart last week when an unflattering photo sparked rumours that she was pregnant with boyfriend Cole Sprouse’s child.
At the time, the Riverdale star took to Instagram to dispel the rumours saying;
It’s unfortunate that one unflattering photo of my stomach circulating the internet causes hundreds of people to think that I’m pregnant.Nope. Not pregnant. This is just my body. And sometimes I’m bloated. Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight.My body is something that I will NEVER apologise for. My body will constantly go through change. And so will yours. And that’s fine. So let’s not put so much time and effort into caring about a stranger’s figure.”
Pretty decisive so.
Well she has been speaking to ET Online about the rumours and admitted that the rumours did upset her for a moment or two.
I’m 21. I’m not pregnant [and] I don’t want people to think I’m pregnant if I’m not pregnant. It did take a hit to my self-esteem for a second and then I kind of picked myself back up and said, ‘I’m not going to let this ruin my day!
More power to her in our opinion anyway.
She also addressed addressing the rumours to begin with when others may have just ignored them altogether.
I feel like a lot of people say you should just sweep it under the rug, don’t pay attention to it, but that’s never really been my style. Maybe some people find that obnoxious, but I felt the need to say, ‘No. I’m not pregnant.
She even took the time to call out those generating the rumours.
It’s kind of sad that people felt the need to make my weight a topic of conversation, but it’s just the world we live in.
Do not mess with Lili Reinhart because she is well able to take anyone and everyone on.
