PAUL MCGANN IS a barber in Co. Kildare who has been working in the town for the last 33 years.

McGann runs The Master Barber Shop in Kildare Town and has recently found himself going viral thanks to his use of a rather unusual implement while cutting hair.

See that giant sharp-looking scissors? That’s a sheep shears.

And McGann has been using it to cut the hair of men in Kildare.

Look at him snipping away.

McGann’s exploits were subsequently picked up a number of popular social media accounts and they have since attracted millions of views.

Here’s how he explained the method to Insider:

Some of customers are sheep farmers and they’re messing one day and they said, “I bet you can’t cut hair with shears.” So I got the shears, I adjusted it myself to cut hair and I’ve been using it since.

While he mostly uses the shears for fun, he says it does have one benefit.

Whatever way it cuts the hair, it does put a little bit of a nicer finish on it sometimes.
