Enson Inoue: brings the pain (and a Geiger counter). The Hachiko Coalition

MMA's very own Radioactive Man heads to Fukushima

Enson Inoue likes armbarring people into submission, kneeing large men in the face until they lose consciousness, and dogs. In fact he’s willing to brave life-threatening radiation to feed them.

IT MIGHTN’T HAVE grabbed the headlines in quite the same way the thousands of evacuations did, but the deterioration of the Fukashima nuclear reactor contaminated thousands of family pets, who have since been left to scavenge what they can from the quaratined zone.

Undeterred, some charities are braving the evacuation zone’s life threatening radiation to deliver food to hundreds of starving animals. Among their ranks is Japanese-American MMA fighter Enson Inoue, who’s been working closely with the non-profit Hachiko Coalition.

He’s been travelling though the “20km Zone” with buckets of dog food in tow. Previously the subject of a great deal of Yakuza-related speculation, Inoue’s latest career move seems a strange one for a man entirely at ease with the idea of  pummelling people in the face.

But if you’re a dog person, you’re a dog person.
