LAST YEAR, LOVERS of cosy telly were shocked by the news that the Great British Bake Off would be leaving BBC for Channel 4.
Mary Berry and beloved hosts Mel and Sue jumped ship along with it, leaving Channel 4 with, as many people observed, what was essentially Paul Hollywood and a tent.
Channel 4 has just announced who will be joining Hollywood in said tent, and well, they surprised us.
Restaurateur and TV chef Prue Leith will be replacing Mary Berry:
Taking over hosting duties, meanwhile, are QI presenter and comedian Sandi Toksvig…
…And Noel Fielding. Yes, Mighty Boosh Noel Fielding. Noel Fielding who you probably had a crush on during the dark days of nu-rave. OLD GREGG, FOR GOD’S SAKE.
“I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me,” said the comedian of his new job.
