But all is not as it seems.

TODAY IN POLAND, a romantic note stuck to a tree has gone insanely viral around the world.

From the outside, it looks like a woman wants to find herself an intelligent husband – so she left her phone number in the form of a maths problem.

Somebody spotted it and uploaded it to Facebook this morning – and it has already been shared 16,000 times

The note basically translates from Polish as:

Hi, I am looking for a wise man, who will be my husband. Here’s my number.

Followed by the difficult enough looking maths equation.

Needless to say, the internet has fallen in love with the concept

Everyone wanted this to be true, to see if the mysterious Polish woman would find her genius

But all is not as it seems.

As the popular Polish website Noizz has claimed credit for the note – saying it was all a stunt to see how far one romantic gesture can spiral out of control.

Just as everyone was starting to believe we had a Polish Good Will Hunting situation on our hands – they go and pull the rug from under us.

Boooo. We wanted to believe.
