IT’S MONDAY MORNING and that can only mean one thing: the whole country is still thinking about Room To Improve.
Last night, Dermot and his team visited Drogheda couple Ian and Claire to help renovate the couple’s 1930s home.
Dermot’s grand plan for the house? To insert a giant slab of concrete in the middle of the sitting room.
Eh, what?
One of the most prominent features of the build will be an exposed slab of raw concrete dominating one wall of the new extension.
Oh lovely, just what every couple dreams about.
Viewers at home were frankly appalled.

Was Dermot having a bit of a Kanye West moment?
You know who else wasn’t overly impressed? Ian and Claire.
Once Dermot informed them of his grand plans, the couple expressed a bit of trepidation with Claire asking, “What happens if it’s a resounding no? Can it be covered? Can it be plastered?”
Dermot’s response? “It would be a shame. It’s like goldleafing something and then putting a spray tan over it.” Alright, Michelangelo.
Meanwhile, these two lads weren’t feeling at all.
So, how did Dermot’s vision turn out?
