IRELAND IS PRESENTLY enjoying some rather lovely sunshine so you know what that means — it’s time to get creative with alcohol.

Blogger The Boozey Swine has come up with what we would wager is the most summery drink ever.

Introducing the Tangle Twister Daquiri.

You need:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Tinned pears and pineapples
  • Sugar
  • Rum
  • Pear cider
  • Green food colouring
  • Vanilla ice-cream

First of all, you make the strawberry swirl…

Pop some strawberries into a blender with some caster sugar and three measures of Bacardi, and mix it all up.

For the green swirl…

Throw some tinned pear halves (with juice), a generous helping of pear cider, two measures of Bacardi, a sprinkling of sugar and some green food colouring into the blender until it looks like this.

Next, make some pineapple ice-cream

Simply mix vanilla ice-cream, three rings of tinned pineapples and more run (hey, if the recipe asks for it, right?) and you’re set.

Place the three mixtures in the freezer for approximately 2 hours.

When you take them out, give them a 10-second blast in the microwave and then you’re ready to make your daquiri!

The Boozey Swine recommends using an icing syringe to dispense the ice-cream layers.

And you can layer the pear and strawberry ice-creams with a spoon.
