HOLLYWOOD. BEVERLY HILLS. Limerick. One of of these places is not like the other.
When you’re a pair of loved-up, world-famous actors, have a large brood and are regularly followed around by the paparazzi, it makes sense that you would want a home that’s away from the glare of the press. But would you move all the way to Ireland to escape it?
That appeared to be the case this week when a Limerick County Council application appeared under the name ‘Angelina Jolie’ for a space in Rathkeale, while a ‘Mr Brad Bitt’ was looking for a site in ‘Beverley Hills, Newcastle West, Limerick’.
Before you get too excited about having celebrity neighbours, we’re sorry to have to break the bad news: Jolie and ‘Bitt’ aren’t really settling down in Limerick.
Gerry Sheeran, senior planner with Limerick County Council, told TheJournal.ie that the county council was working with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to improve the site, and while trying out some live tests, they decided to use the fictitious names. He added that it was an eagle-eyed journalist with the Limerick Leader who first spotted the stars on the site.
While there’s no news that Jolie or Pitt might be moving to Ireland in the near future, Sheeran did say that if they decided to settle in Limerick:
We would welcome them like anybody else.
Hear that, Brangelina?
