YOU PROBABLY KNOW comedian Chris Addison from loads of things.

Mock The Week, The Thick of It, Doctor Who… the list goes on.

He’s always been quite supportive of us.

Today he joined the thousands of British people who have been impressed and horrified in equal measure by the spectacle that is hurling.

He even congratulated us! Er, sort of.

The tweet went down a treat in Ireland and soon, Addison’s Irish fans were sharing their own tales of hurling.

One person even sent this powerful illustration of the absolute insanity that is hurling.

And, of course, Addison’s initial tweet trended.
